Butter cookies shaped like Christmas trees

Butter cookies

I love festivals. Not that we need an excuse to celebrate but it is nice to borrow some festive cheer from other parts of the world and make merry with loved ones. Not that it’s easy mind you !!! We have our own Scrooge McDucks here who go “bah humbug” at all the reds, greens, whites ,not to mention our lovely tree with the lovingly collected ornaments.

It doesn’t matter what religion I am born into or what Gods I pray to ….or for that matter what my spiritual leanings are (if any or not ) Thankfully I come from a place of secure upbringing where I was taught to see beauty in everything and make the best out of every opportunity in life. My mother, uncle and aunts are all encompassing about other cultures and have taught me to respect and appreciate customs other than my own. Our home is therefore a reflection of all that I have imbibed and it really is tiresome when people can’t just enjoy the butter cookie instead and swallow the judgemental sour which keeps rising to the surface !!!

Now that the venting is done 😉 do give this easy recipe a try. It is from Rachel Allen’s recipe video. I used to love watching her bake and listening to that Irish accent of hers !
