Chocolate Chip cookies

Being a huge Archie comic fan , American food like pizza and chocolate chip cookies were the stuff of childhood food fantasies. We would wait for people to bring us back these delicious chocolate chip cookies from the American shores for they were of course the most authentic.

I remember baking my first batch of chocolate chip cookies when someone (I can’t rememeber who!) brought me a big bag of Nestle Toll house chocolate chips. Behind the packet was the cookie recipe and boy was I excited to try. The recipe continues to be a favourite of mine and has over the years seen a lot of variations from including m & ms, to white chocolate chips to a variety of walnut and pecans and also dark chocolate chunks.

The aromatics too got varied. From a basic vanilla flavouring I have experimented with orange rind , cinnamon, pumpkin spice and it’s always been so much fun.

However the recipe which I share today also has a video link where i mention that it was my son who found me this recipe off the internet.Guess why ? Because it has no nuts and therefore easily edible despite his ongoing dental treatment !

…And he’s a reasonably good kid,so why not !?! While the original one used white flour and refined sugar,I’ve opted to make a few changes. The cookies came out great so I suppose that’s all that matters.

And I always love any excuse to get out my pretty cookie tin and I have matching pastel plates tooo….yaaay ! (small joys)

Please do let me know if you try this one,I would really appreciate the comments down below rather than directly to my e mail…It’s great when the recipe post receives public appreciation. So ,keep the love coming !
